Terms and Conditions

  1. This tour package is based on Promotion Non-Refundable, Non-Rescheduleable, No Transferrable except in the case of Force Majeure which makes the airlines cannot operate.
  2. The itinerary may change to adjust with the condition in the field. In the case the itinerary has to be changed, all points of interest as per the itinerary will be rearranged accordingly.
  3. Flight departure may be adjusted by a maximum of 2 days before or after the scheduled departure date to adjust with airline unforeseen conditions. For tour participants who fly domestic flights to Jakarta, it is mandatory to issue domestic flight tickets only after the International Flights (Jakarta – Athens – Jakarta) are issued.
  4. In the event of Force Majeur such as the closure of airports, or endemic,  or pandemic,  and flights have to be rescheduled. All costs associated with the rescheduling will become the tour participants’ responsibility and the detail will be referred to the airline’s regulations.

Etiquette

Greeks are warm and hospitable.
When meeting someone for the first time, they shake hands firmly, smile, and maintain direct eye contact.
Good friends often embrace; they may also kiss each other on each cheek. Male friends often slap each other’s arms at the shoulder.

If you are invited to a Greek home:

  • Arriving 30 minutes late is considered punctual!
  • Dress well. This demonstrates respect for your hosts.
  • Offer to help the hostess with the preparation or clearing up after a meal is served. Your offer may not be accepted, but it will be appreciated.
  • Expect to be treated like royalty!
  • Compliment the house.

Table manners

  • Remain standing until invited to sit down. You may be shown to a particular seat.
  • Table manners are Continental — the fork is held in the left hand and the knife in the right while eating.
  • The oldest person is generally served first.
  • Do not begin eating until the hostess starts.
  • Keep your elbows off the table and your hands above the table when eating.
  • Accepting a second helping compliments the host.
  • Expect a great deal of discussion. Meals are a time for socializing.
  • It is considered polite to soak up gravy or sauce with a piece of bread.
  • People often share food from their plate.
  • Finish everything on your plate.
  • Put your napkin next to your plate when you have finished eating.
  • Indicate you have finished eating by laying your knife and fork parallel on your plate with the handles facing to the right.
  • The host gives the first toast.
  • An honored guest should return the toast later in the meal.
  • The most common toast is “to your health”, which is “stinygiasou” in informal situations and “eis igían sas” at formal functions.

Best Time to Visit

Greece is known for glorious summer weather, blazing sunshine and clear blue skies from May to September. This is typically the best time to visit Greece – the country is full of life and temperatures reach the late 30s. It’s also peak season, though, so many tourists descend on the small island.

There is also a slight difference in temperatures between the north and south of the country. Toward islands such as Crete and Rhodes, it remains fairly temperate even later into the autumn months.

Spring (APR-JUN)

To catch some gorgeous weather without the crowds, this is a great time of year to head for Greece. Whilst some areas of the mainland may still be a little bit chillier, island areas such as Crete and the Peloponnese are already reaching deliciously balmy temperatures, with the clear blue skies and sparkling sea for which Greece is famous. If you’re planning a trip around this time, however, try and avoid Easter week which tends to be a very busy time for internal travel.

Summer (JUL-AUG)

This is, of course, peak season in Greece for a very good reason: the soaring temperatures, glorious sunshine, golden beaches and glittering blue sea make this a prime summer destination. If you can brave the hordes of tourists, there’s no better time to head for the islands of Samothráki and Thássos, which only really bloom during these months. For beach luxury and glamorous nightlife, Santorini and Mykonos are hard to beat, whilst Milos, Spetses and Folegandros are lovely spots for a laid-back family vacation or off-the-beaten-track escape.

Autumn (SEP-NOV)

Weather on the islands, and Crete in particular, stays balmy well into September and even October, known as the “little summer of Ayios Dhimitrios”. But if you’ve had enough of sun and sea for the year, there’s a whole wealth of beauty, history, culture and cuisine to be discovered further inland. Now can be a wonderful time to visit some of the country’s superb vineyards during the grape harvest, sample local Mediterranean olives and other delicacies, or explore the streets and ancient monuments of Athens.

Winter (DEC-MAR)

Whilst the weather during these months is the least reliable, they still see many beautiful, clear days. With the tourists and oppressive summer heat out of the way, this is the perfect time to head for Athens, the “cradle of Western civilisation”, and take in some unique city life. With its awe-inspiring Acropolis, world-famous museums, stunning architecture from across the millennia, sophisticated cafe and bar scene and Michelin-starred cuisine, it makes the perfect destination to breathe some life into your winter months.

Tomb of Unknown Soldier

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a war memorial located in Syntagma Square in Athens, in front of the Old Royal Palace. It is a cenotaph dedicated to the Greek soldiers killed during war. It was sculpted between 1930 and 1932 by sculptor Fokion Rok. The tomb is guarded by the Evzones of the Presidential Guard.

Greek Parliament Building

The Old Royal Palace is the first royal palace of modern Greece, completed in 1843. It has housed the Hellenic Parliament since 1934. The Old Palace is situated at the heart of modern Athens, facing onto Syntagma Square.

Presidential Palace

The Presidential Mansion in Athens, Greece, is the official residence of the President of the Hellenic Republic. It served previously as the Royal Palace, until the abolition of the monarchy by the 1973 referendum.

Panathenaic Stadium

The Panathenaic Stadium or Kallimarmaro is a multi-purpose stadium in Athens, Greece. One of the main historic attractions of Athens, it is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble.

Panepistimiou Avenue

Panepistimiou Street is a major street in Athens that has run one way for non-transit vehicles since 2002 from Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, Syntagma Square and Vassilissis Sofias Avenue to Omonoia Square in which is now a pedestrian crossing and before an intersection. Its total length is about 1.2 km.

National Library

The National Library of Greece is situated near the center of city of Athens. It was designed by the Danish architect Theophil Freiherr von Hansen, as part of his famous Trilogy of neo-classical buildings including the Academy of Athens and the original building of the Athens University.

Temple of Olympian Zeus

A gigantic, semi-ruined edifice completed in the 2nd century AD—as your guide explains its turbulent history. The Temple of Olympian Zeus, also known as the Olympieion or Columns of the Olympian Zeus, is a former colossal temple at the center of the Greek capital Athens. It was dedicated to “Olympian” Zeus, a name originating from his position as head of the Olympian gods.

Acropolis & Museum

Troll up to the UNESCO-listed site that served as the ancient citadel, and tour the buildings as you hear how they reflected Athens’ prosperity in the 5th century BC. Admire the magnificent Parthenon, and see monuments including the Propylaea gateway and stunning Temple of Athena Nike.

St. Loannis Port Town

Agios Ioannis settlement is named after the small church of Saint John that is built on the hill overlooking the beach. It is one of the most privileged places of Mykonos Island because of the stunning view to the sacred island of Delos and some of the best hotels in Mykonos.

Ano Mera Village

 

The quiet inland village of Ano Mera is home to the restored 16th-century monastery Panagia Tourliani, which houses holy icons and paintings in a whitewashed complex with a striking bell tower and a marble fountain. Bakeries, tavernas, and cafes with outdoor terraces on narrow cobbled streets have a rustic-chic vibe. Walking trails lead into the surrounding landscape of rocky hills and down to nearby beaches.

Whitewashed church & monastery dating from the 16th century, with a grand dome & religious museum.

Kalo Livadi, Kalafati, Aghia Ann Beaches

Kalo Livadi means “good valley,” and it describes its location at the end of a long valley on the southern part of the island, between the very popular beaches of Elia and Kalafatis. It’s a cosmopolitan beach with an Ibiza-like atmosphere in the summer season, thanks to its trendy beach club Lohan. But it attracts all kinds of sunbathers, including families, as there is enough sandy space for everyone, and the shallow waters are safe for children to play in.

Mykonos Town

Mykonos is a Greek island, part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos. The island has an area of 85.5 square kilometres and rises to an elevation of 341 metres at its highest point. There are 10,134 inhabitants according to the 2011 census, most of whom live in the largest town, Mykonos, which lies on the west coast. The town is also known as Chora. Mykonos’s nickname is “The Island of the Winds”, due to the very strong winds that usually blow on the island.

Santorini

Santorini is the supermodel of the Greek islands, a head-turner whose face is instantly recognizable around the world: multicolored cliffs soar out of a sea-drowned volcanic crater, topped by whitewashed buildings.

With its reputation for dazzling panoramas, romantic sunsets and volcanic-sand beaches, it’s hardly surprising Santorini features on so many travelers’ bucket lists.
